Cast your vote and see how your choice compares to those of other teens. This is a great way to spark fun debates with friends all summer long! To vote, simply place a sticker next to your choice. Teens who participate in the voting will have a chance to win a prize!

Your Shot Studio: Summer Photo Challenge

It could be sunshine at the park, your favorite reading spot, time spent with friends, a creative project, or any simple moment that made you smile. Whatever summer means to you, snap it! No fancy camera is needed – your phone works perfectly. This is not about being professional; it’s about creativity.Email your photo to [email protected]. Every participant who submits a photo will receive a prize. Plus, there’s an Instagram-worthy garden backdrop at The Chill Spot where you can pose with your prize and capture your moment.

Independence to be Independent: The journey from “pit” schools to home schools to HBCUs

The birth of America’s public school system has a great deal to do with Black people's activism during enslavement and Reconstruction and their work via the Freedmen's Bureau and the resulting HBCUs. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country’s independence, College of DuPage English professor Dr. Cheryl Boyle will explore ideas of citizenship, freedom, activism, persistence, and solidarity against a culture that did not see citizenship or personhood as including Black people and freedom that came from Black home schooling.Register here.
