Roku Lending Protocol

Purpose: The Bellwood Public Library makes Rokus available to Bellwood Library Card Holders.Rokus are provided according to availability. The Bellwood Library is not responsible for monitoring minors viewing of items on the Rokus.

Use: The following rules and regulations apply:

  1. Rokus may be borrowed by resident Library card holders ages 18 and older in good standing. Each time borrowers must show a photo ID (driver’s license or state ID.)
  2. Borrowers must fill out Roku Lending Agreement.
  3. The loan period is seven days (7) No renewals.
  4. Only one (1) Roku can be checked out per household.
  5. Rokus cannot have holds placed on them.
  6. When the Roku is returned, there is a 24 hour waiting period to check out another Roku by that household.
  7. Rokus must be returned in person with all parts including case. Returning Rokus in any of the book drops, either outdoor or indoor, is NOT acceptable.
  8. Fines for unreturned Rokus are $2.00 per day, not counting days the Library is closed. An “on time” return is defined as a Roku that is returned prior to closing on the seventh (7th) day of checkout. The borrower’s account must be at a $0 amount before checking out another Roku.
  9. A borrower should have these technical requirements at home to use a Roku:
    1. Wi-fi b.
    2. TV with HDMI port
  10. The borrower assumes full responsibility for the cost of repair or replacement in the event that the Roku is lost, stolen or damaged. The Library’s IT Department will assess technological issues and charge the borrower accordingly. Missing parts will result in the following deduction from the deposit:
    1. Missing Roku: $144.00
    2. Missing HDMI cable $ 10.00
    3. Missing power cord $ 10.00
    4. Missing Container/Box $ 5.00
    5. Processing Fee $ 5.00
  11. If the Roku is not returned, its streaming services will be discontinued.
