An Open Letter To Parents

Bellwood Library strives to be a family friendly
library with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. However, the library is a public
building and every type of individual is free to visit. Although we try to keep
the library a safe, secure place for everyone, we cannot guarantee an
unsupervised childs safety. For safety's sake, children ages eight and under
must be under the direct supervision of an adult. Please do not leave school
aged children alone in the library for hours at a time. If you would not leave
your children alone at a mall, please do not leave them alone at the library.
Children should always have a phone number of a parent or relative in case they
become ill or some other emergency arises. Our children are precious keep
them safe!
The Busy Season Is Here!

January through March has traditionally been a very busy time
at the library. Black History Month, science projects, and other homework
assignments bring a large number of children to the library. Because of limited
seating space, children who have finished their homework may be encouraged to
head home to make room for others. Thank you for your cooperation!
